Meet-up: Knowledge exchange for lone writers

Are you the only technical writer at your company, or maybe you are only two? Then this meet-up is the right one for you. We will talk about challenges, opportunities and the life of lone technical writers.

You will have the option to share challenges, get input, develop solutions and network with like-minded people.

NB: This event has a limit of 10 seats.

Our host for the day is Mariann Øst. With over 20 years of experience in technical communication, having worked with technical documentation since 2002, Mariann is an experienced Technical Documentation Specialist. Currently she is employed at HOUNÖ, a small Danish company, where she serves as the sole expert responsible for all technical documentation.

HOUNÖ was founded in 1977 by the brothers Svend and Hans Jørgen Houmøller, who built their first combi oven in a garage in Randers, Denmark. Today, HOUNÖ operates out of a 3,200 m² facility in Randers and is recognized globally for its innovation, quality, and elegant Danish design in the combi oven industry. Since 2006, the company has been part of the American Middleby Corporation, a global leader in professional foodservice and food processing equipment.

At HOUNÖ, Mariann creates and maintains a wide range of after-sales documentation including installation manuals, service manuals, user manuals, spare parts catalogues, and mounting instructions. She also coordinates translation projects and manage terminology development in the HOUNÖ terminology database.

Mariann’s background includes previous roles as Technical Writer, Language Advisor, Language Editor, and Translator in large corporate environments, and she holds a certification as a translator and interpreter in French and a bachelor’s degree in English from Aarhus Business School.
