After the conference, our evening programme provides entertainment, sightseeing and networking opportunities. We arranged some interesting events in selected places where you can socialize, chat, learn more about Wiesbaden and taste some exquisit specialties.

Previous registration is required for all events. To register, please use the conference registration form in the printed programme that will be sent out at the beginning of September.
 

Welcome event with free beer

tekom invites all conference attendees to free beer.

 City walking tour  "Experience Wiesbaden by foot"

The best way to experience the unique atmosphere of Wiesbaden is by a guided city walking tour. Get to know Germany’s greenest city, get a taste of the „hot springs“, which were already used by the Romans 2000 years ago and discover the meaning of the „Globes of Mattiaci“. Visit the former City Palace of the Dukes of Nassau with Germany’s oldest state government and listen to the tower bells of Wiesbaden’s tallest building. Find out about the Russian history of Wiesbaden, why there are two city halls, how the unique Wiesbaden architecture was created or why there were 250 hotels in Wiesbaden during the times of Emperor Wilhelm II.

• Meeting Point: 18:30 hrs at the main entrance of the Rhein-Main-Hallen, where a tourist guide will meet the group and lead the city walking tour.
• Duration:  approx. 1.5 hrs

 The Art of Beer Brewing

Experience the tradition of beer brewing in a small local Hessian brewery. During a tour you get a closer look at the long-established craft and art of brewing beer. After a sampling you can enjoy a delicious regional culinary treat in the rustic and comfortable restaurant. You have the choice of four different meals.
 

• Date: Wednesday, November 3rd
• Meeting Point: 18:30 hrs at the main entrance of the Rhein-Main-Hallen. We will take the public transit bus to Mainz-Kastel (approx. 25 minutes).
• Duration:  approx. 2.5 hrs
• Language: English
• Price/person: 25 EUR* (including meals, 2 different beers and travel with a mutual bus ticket for public transport).
• Minimum number of participants: 12 persons, maximum number: 25 persons

International Networking Dinner

The tcworld conference is an international meeting point for experts from all over the world. This year, we will have guest delegates from Japan, Korea, China, India and lots of other countries. This evening is an excellent opportunity for networking and information exchange across borders. Come and meet people from different countries and industries in an informal setting.

• Location: Restaurant Lumen at the market place in Wiesbaden

Short City Walking Tour & Whisky and Chocolate

After a walking tour through the center of Wiesbaden with its magnificent villa districts and representative building fronts you experience a delicious combination of exquisite Scotch Single Malt Whisky matured in barrels and a finest selection of chocolate from a German chocolate manufacture. During the degustation in Wiesbaden’s city center you will learn everything about Scotch and how chocolate and the “liquid gold” can fit together. An extraordinary culinary experience! A Scottish lentil soup will also be served.

• Meeting Point: 18:30 hrs at the main entrance to the Rhein-Main-Hallen, where a tourist guide will meet the group and lead them to the Whisky tasting by a short city walking tour.
• Duration:  approx. 2.5 hrs
• Language: German
• Price/person: 31 EUR* (incl. 4 different kinds of degustation and Scottish lentil soup)

  Short City Walking Tour, Kurhaus and Casino in Wiesbaden

Get to know Wiesbaden in a 30-minute stroll. The destination is the Kurhaus of the Hessian State Capital, one of the most beautiful magnificient buildings in Germany. It is the societal center of the spa city and offers a distinctive setting for numerous events. The Kurhaus also accomodates one of the most famous and historic Casinos in Germany, which was already established in 1771. Apart from Richard Wagner, Fyodor Dostoyevsky was undoubtedly one its most prominent visitors. It was here that he was inspired to write his novel “The Gambler”, and the “Dostoyevsky roulette wheel” can still be viewed. You can test your gambling skills during a demonstration roulette game.

Please note: We need the personal data of the participants before this event. We will send you a respective form when you are registering for this event. All participants need to carry an ID card or passport with them. For the Casino a well-groomed attire is important. Gentlemen are requested to wear a jacket and a tie or bow tie.

• Price/person: 18 EUR* (incl. a small reception with sparkling wine)
• Minimum number of participants: 15 persons, maximum number: 30 persons

  Dinner with tekom officials - Bestowal of the tekom Documentation Award

In an exclusive setting you can meet the tekom board members, the heads of the tekom regional groups, members of expert committees and work groups for a chat and a good glass of local wine. Furthermore, the winners of the tekom documentation award are announced and tekom members are honoured for outstanding activites. Enjoy the dinner buffet à la Chef (variety of starters, soup, 3 different main dishes, variety of desserts and salads) and drinks. All this is included in the registration fee.
