Right since Version 4 of Adobe Acrobat, it has been possible to create structured PDF. Adobe has modified this output format in the current version. The "tagged PDF" is XML-based and can be converted into speech by special reading-software. This provides an opportunity for making technical documentation easily accessible to elderly people and the disabled.
