Follow-up to DIN EN 292 standard, available since April

The DIN EN 292 standard is one of the earliest standards to be harmonized for entire Europe. Meanwhile the standard is old and a follow-up to it is available as DIN EN ISO 12100 along with its Parts 1 and 2 replacing the DIN EN 292 standard. In April 2004 the German Institute for Standardization commenced with nationwide release of DIN EN ISO 12100. Various aspects of this standard are discussed in this article.
