DITA and Information Mapping

A methodical approach combined with the technical possibilities of XML appears logical and highly promising. Thus, the DITA is an open standard for structured documentation in the XML format. Information Mapping is a method of structuring and presenting information that keeps the reader, which supports topic oriented preparation like the DITA. The following article primarily examines the interplay between the DITA and Information Mapping. The basic insights however are applicable to other methodical approaches as well, such as functional design.
