Technology being understood differently among various cultures is just one of the many problems which we need to pay attention to in the localization of user and operating manuals for other markets. The basic requirement of a translation, namely, to covert the source text as undistorted and unambiguous as possible, is alone not enough. The demands on a good translation go far beyond this.
