The force of habit makes us take many things so much for granted, that we hardly ever question them. The "state of the technology" is the measure of all things. What is familiar conveys deceptive safety and tempts one to be lethargic. Just ten years have elapsed since the subject of "Online Help" achieved high importance. However, it has become quieter since the last two development thrusts - the introduction of Windows 95 and the switch to the HTML-based CHM-format. It is time to reawaken!
