25 years of technical communication are linked to a comprehensive legal development of individual judicial rulings from product safety to a comprehensive legal system for the protection of users or, rather, product users. Since the past few years, the responsibility of giving proper information to users has been given high importance. What is noteworthy is that it is not a question of an isolated legal development in Germany but it is a development on a European as well as an international level.
