Converters for Microsoft Word and RTF to XML

Until now, Microsoft has not offered a conversion for Word to XML. This will probably change only with the successor of Word XP 2003. It can take quite some time before this version is released and becomes established in the technical editorial offices. Meanwhile, this gap is filled by stand alone programs that take care of the export to XML. We will introduce some of these programs in this article.
