Controlled language in structured documents

Everyone is talking about structured information, reusable text elements and methods for text designing such as functional design or information mapping. In most cases, it is assured that using a particular method can ensure the quality of technical documentation. Yet, how can one make sure that structured contents are also correct linguistically, and that they do justice to the given definitions and their existing implementations?
